My Research Interests:
Development of culturally responsive assessments and interventions for the immigrant population, for youth with autism from underserved and diverse cultural backgrounds.
I advocate through my research, teaching, and service for people from systemically oppressed backgrounds to quality mental health care and access.
I also examine how trauma passes from generation to generation and how collective healing occurs.
I examine how family relationships are formed, developed, and nurtured in different contexts such as immigration, adaption, disability, etc.
My work is community-based, action-oriented and healing-focused. That means we focus on the person's strengths and help alleviate distress.
