CHP hosts VACES 2026 state conference

Grace Kye standing in front of her poster titled Sex Trafficking & Disability: The Need for Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling in ReintegrationThe annual VACES (Virginia Association for Counselor Education and Supervision) student conference was held in the College of Health Professions on Saturday, March 21, 2026. This conference was hosted in a collaborative effort between VACES and the joint Chi Sigma Iota chapter of the Departments of Rehabilitation Counseling and Counseling and Special Education.

Around 100 counseling students from across Virginia presented posters, roundtables, and content presentations. The Department of Rehabilitation Counseling had several students present including: Alanna King, James Danielson, Adriel Castro-Uzhca, and Grace Kye.

Congrats to our students and thanks to the CHP faculty and staff that helped support such a great event.
