Jennifer Lawrence serves as a Clinical Coordinator for the Department of Rehabilitation Counseling. She has licenses in professional counseling (LPC) in Virginia and the District of Columbia, is a nationally certified counselor (NCC), and is a certified rehabilitation counselor (CRC).  Lawrence also engages with the National Board of Certified Counselors as a subject matter expert.

Prior to joining the department, Lawrence provided clinical supervision and training to clinicians who provide mental health services to children, adolescents, adults and their families from underserved populations.  Lawrence also has provided telemental health services to individuals, couples, and families to improve access to mental health and substance abuse services in areas where there is a shortage of providers. Lawrence has spent over twenty years supporting individuals from different backgrounds in and outside of educational and community settings, through providing program leadership, training, academic support, career counseling, and mental health and substance abuse services. 

Lawrence completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Virginia in Psychology and a Master of Education at the College of William and Mary in Higher Education Administration. Lawrence is also a proud graduate of VCU with a Master of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling.  For fun, Lawrence likes to travel, do kettlebell workouts, and spend time with family and friends.
